The following is the list of parts needed to support the sound for a performance of EPAC Kids outside the theater.
- 4 x Vocal mics
- 2 x Unipoint mics
- 8 x 25’ XLR lines
- 6 x mic stands
- 2 x monitor speakers
- 2 x main speakers
- 2 x speaker stands
- 3 x 25’ speaker lines
- 1 x 50’ speaker line
- 1 x Gemini CD player in carrying case
- 1 x portable CD player with patch cord and batteries
- 1 x 6’ RCA to 1/4” patch cord
- 1 x Mackie-14 mixer in carrying case
- 1 x Crown amp in rack
- 1 x 4-space storage drawer in rack
- 2 x 5’ TRS to XLR patch cords
- 1 x 50’ extension cord
- 2 x orange power blocks
- 2 x IEC power cords
- 1 x Storage bucket
The following are the steps needed to connect this system:
- Turn the mixer, amp and CD player all off
- Plug the extension cord into a power source, orange power blocks into the cord
- Run the IEC cords from orange power block to the amp and mixer
- Plug the CD player cord into orange power block
- Place the 6 mic stands
- Put the 2 unipoint and 4 vocal mics into stands
- Run an XLR line from each mic to channels 1-6 on the mixer
- Run the patch cord from the CD player to the Left jack on 2 stereo mixer channels
- Run a TRS to XLR patch from the mixer Left Main out to amp input 1
- Run a TRS to XLR patch from mixer Aux-1-Send to amp input 2
- Place the speaker stands, put a main speaker on each stand
- Run a 50’ speaker line from one main speaker to the other
- Run a 25’ speaker line from the 2nd main speaker to amp output 1
- Run a 25’ speaker line from one monitor to the other
- Run a 25’ speaker line from the 2nd monitor to amp output 2
- Power up, test and go
Notes:
- Store and transport the CD players in the aluminum carrying case to prevent damage and keep dirt out of them
- Wrap all cables with the ‘figure 8’ method and tie them. Do NOT just stuff them into the storage bucket or wind them around your elbow.
- For the July 29th performance, leave everything at the park since most of it will be used for Shakespeare at the park.
