Our Old Makcie-32 Mixer Is For Sale

EPAC recently replaced the main mixer of the sound system with a new one. The old one is now for sale.

The unit for sale is a Mackie SR32.4. It was installed new in 2001. For a complete list of features and details, see http://www.mackie.com/pdf/archive/sr24-4_sr32-4_om.pdf .

Although we were able to obtain a grant and upgrade to a mixer with more features, we probably would have kept this one but for the fact that it has a problem. The main right output can cut out completely or the level of the right main output can be lower than the left main output. We used it for a number of shows by bridging the left and right sides of the sound system to the main left output from the mixer and this worked fine, but it was not a permanent solution.

Even with this problem, this mixer could be the answer for someone without much cash who really needs a bigger mixer.

  • It could be used for totally mono output (just as we used it with the left main out only)
  • If you don’t mind using two of the GROUP outputs as the main outputs, then it could be used that way for stereo output.
  • It could also be used as a monitor mixer for up to six monitor circuits.
  • It also could be a good mixer for recording (28 individual XLR inputs, each with a Trim control and an Insert jack which could be fed to a multi-track recording unit).
  • It could be used in the rehearsal space of a band. (It’s probably too big to haul to gigs).
  •

One other problem on this mixer was repaired in 2010. Half of the Mute buttons went out. This was fixed by replacing all of the ribbon cables in the unit.

We are selling this unit strictly ‘as is’ at an asking price of $250. It can be seen by appointment by contacting Tom DeForest at 607-754-1536.
