EPAC Repertory Company presents

"Dickens In The Park - Great Expectations"

ENDICOTT, NY –– The Endicott Performing Arts Center (EPAC) puts a new twist on their annual “Shakespeare in the Parks” program when the EPAC Repertory Company presents the work of another English writer and social critic Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.   The show will be presented free to the public at 7:30 nightly from Thursday, August 14  through Sunday August 17 at Stage at Little Italy  located in the George W. Johnson Park on Oak Hill Avenue in Endicott.

Chris Nickerson, the director of the show, says: “Using only Dickens' extraordinary words and a cast of nine this is a powerful stage version of the much-loved work. The show is fast-paced and from it's opening image of Pip, alone on the windswept marshes, to the haunted darkness that is Miss Havisham this inventive and atmospheric adaptation brings to thrilling life this classic exploration of childhood terrors and hopes – and adult dreams and regrets.”

“This is our 11th annual free outdoor production in the George W. Johnson park, says EPAC Director Patrick Foti.  “It’s EPAC’s way of thanking the community for their support throughout the year.“

Admission is free, although a goodwill offering is encouraged.  Refreshments will be available at the park and blankets and lawn chairs are suggested.  For more information contact EPAC at 607-785-8903.
