SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

The EPAC Youth Troupe will present "Winnie the Pooh" in the Park, August 14th - 17th at the George W. Johnson Park in Endicott, NY.

This project is funded by Earlville Opera House's Arts in the Community Grants Program, made possible by the NYS Senate with support of the Office of the Governor, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.

Additional support for the Broome ACG Program graciously provided by the Stewart W. and Willma C. Hoyt Foundation, Inc.

EPAC has produced live theatrical events at the Stage at Little Italy in the George W. Johnson Park in Endicott NY for over 20 years every summer. It started with full Shakespeare plays in the park under a tent, but when the Village of Endicott built the beautiful amphitheater EPAC produced full scale Broadway musicals like 'Damn Yankees' and 'Hair' in the park. In recent years EPAC started presenting abridged versions of Shakespeare in the Park with the EPAC Youth Troupe doing an hour long 'Midsummer Night's Dream' annually with an Arts Festival at the end of the week as a way of giving back to the community that has given EPAC so much! This is the first year EPAC is doing a classic children's play like "Winnie the Pooh", one of the most beloved kids characters of all time. This one hour children's play is for the entire community to enjoy for free and we hope to see families and friends of all ages, grandparents and grandkids all enjoying this fun free event together.

The Shakespeare in the Park program was organized in 2004 and has presented the following productions:

In recent years this FREE annual event produced by EPAC for the public has transformed into an abridged version performed by EPAC Kids! EPAC also added a Shakespearean Festival in the park to enhance this community event!
