OPEN auditions for Drowsy Chaperone will be on Sunday, May 17th from 6-9pm.

Directed by Sam Gurn, Music Directed by Alex VanTassel, and Choreographed by Lexi Bryant.

Please prepare to sing a verse & chorus of a song of your choice. You can provide your own back tracks or sing acapella. In addition, please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue, as this is a comedy! There will be a brief dance audition combination taught at auditions so please come in something you feel comfortable moving around in.

Music from the show is not required, but highly encouraged! It is set in the 1920s, so please take the time frame into consideration when picking your audition material.

Brief Summary: With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight. Above all this is a comedy!
